Who is this course for?
The course is aimed at health professionals at any level and from all disciplines who have an interest in or are actively engaged in clinical research.
Surgical research is associated with a number of methodological and practical challenges, related to the assessment of complex interventions, the absence of clinical equipoise, and the lack of standardized study interventions.
Few of these are unique to surgery, but the evaluation of surgical research is demanding because many of these challenges coexist. As a result, surgical research suffers from lack of methodology and often does not lead to reproducible, evidence-based results.
We believe that a correct methodological approach will help provide more clinical evidence and ultimately improve appropriate, safe and efficient translation of new treatments into surgical practice.
