Microrobotics for single port surgery: the MILANO Robot project

Reducing the number of scars is one of the purposes of minimally invasive surgery.
In fact, the less the wall aggression will be large, the greater the patient’s comfort and therefore the faster the return to a normal rhythm of life, even the aesthetic consequences will be less.

AIMS Academy aims to participate in the development of new technologies to perform so-called surgery without scars through natural orifices – N.O.T.E.S.

To this end, AIMS Academy has supported the start-up ValueBioTech with an important initial financing which together with national and international centers and industrial partners has the objective of developing semi-autonomous microrobots guided from the outside by the surgeon for the execution of even complex interventions through a small single incision of the abdomen.
